• Feline idiopathic cystitis.
• Struvite urolithiasis.
• Management of recurrent struvite and calcium oxalate urolithiasis using a single diet.
Note:
In older cats, renal function should be checked before Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie Feline is prescribed.
URINARY S/O MODERATE CALORIE is a complete dietetic feed for cats formulated to dissolve struvite stones and reduce their recurrence through its urine acidifying properties and a low level of magnesium.
- Idiopathic cystitis
- Struvite urolithiasis
- Struvite and calcium oxalate urolithiasis
- Pregnancy
- Lactation
- [Growth_]
- Chronic renal failure
- metabolic acidosis
- Heart failure
- Hypertension
- Treatment with urine acidifying drugs
5 to 12 weeks of dietary treatment are required to dissolve struvite uroliths. To avoid recurrence, the diet should be prescribed for a further 6 months minimum, followed by urinalysis. Once treatment is complete, we recommend using Obesity Management or Satiety if the cat is overweight, or one of the diets from the Neutered Cat range if the animal has already attained its ideal weight.
Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie Feline effectively dissolves struvite uroliths
The reduced calorie content of the diet makes it possible to limit weight gain in cats with a tendency to obesity.
Diluting urine decreases the urinary concentration of struvites and calcium oxalates. The larger urinary volume also ensures regular bladder wash-out.
Undersaturated urine is an environment where crystals cannot proliferate. Thus the urine is unfavourable to the development of struvite and calcium oxalate crystals.
Further Information
Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie has been specially formulated for the treatment of Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD) in cats with a tendency to obesity.
The formulation enables a reduction in calorie intake, thanks to its moderate fat content, whilst providing high quality protein.
