URINARY S/O is a complete dietetic food for cats. Its urine acidifying properties and its low level of magnesium make it suitable for dissolving struvite uroliths and reducing their recurrence. It is also formulated to combat lower urinary tract disorders.

Indications
  • Idiopathic cystitis
  • Struvite urolithiasis
Contraindications
  • [Growth_]
  • Lactation
  • Pregnancy
  • Chronic renal insufficiency
  • metabolic acidosis
  • Heart failure
  • Hypertension
  • Treatment with urine acidifying drugs

6 to 12 weeks of dietary treatment are required to dissolve struvite uroliths or eliminate urinary tract infections. If a urinary tract infection is present, Urinary S/O Feline, combined with an antibacterial agent, should be prescribed for at least one ┨մed.,┨ըoung Female, Skin Young Female S/O, Mature or Se

IDIOPATHIC CYSTITIS

Thanks to the high moisture content of wet food, Urinary S/O Feline increases urine dilution. Since nearly 64% of cases of FLUTD* are idiopathic cystitis, the wet diet should be preferred in cases of recurrent cystitis

STRUVITE DISSOLUTION

Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie effectively dissolves struvite uroliths.

LOW RSS

Undersaturated urine is an environment where crystals cannot proliferate. Thus the urine is unfavourable to the development of struvite and calcium oxalate crystals.

BLADDER SUPPORT

Glycosaminoglycans (GAG) are naturally present on the healthy bladder mucosa but decrease in idiopathic cystitis. This causes increased permeability of the bladder to bacteria, toxins and ions, resulting in bladder inflammation and stimulation of pain sensitive receptors.

The wet form of Urinary S/O is particularly indicated in cases of recurrent idiopathic cystitis. Due to its action on both struvite and oxalate crystals, Urinary S/O Feline is the first-line diet of choice prior to crystal identification. This diet is intended for long-term use and it is particularly important to ensure that Urinary S/O Feline is the cat’s only food source, as access to other foods may trigger recurrence of urolithiasis.
