Overweight or neutered dogs or dogs at risk of becoming overweight due to lifestyle or breed in case of:

URINARY S/O Moderate Calorie is a complete dietetic feed for adult DOGS formulated to dissolve struvite stones and reduce their recurrence through its urine acidifying properties, a low level of magnesium and a restricted level of high quality protein. Its moderate calorie content makes it particularly suitable for dogs who struggle to maintin their weight due to neutering or an inactive lifestyle.

5 to 12 weeks of dietary treatment are required to dissolve uroliths. If a urinary tract infection is present, Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie, combined with an antibacterial agent, should be prescribed for at least one month after a negative urine culture result is obtained.
Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie effectively dissolves struvite uroliths.
The reduced calorie content of the diet makes it possible to limit weight gain in cats with a tendency to obesity.
Diluting urine decreases the urinary concentration of struvites and calcium oxalates. The larger urinary volume also ensures regular bladder wash-out.
Undersaturated urine is an environment where crystals cannot proliferate. Thus the urine is unfavourable to the development of struvite and calcium oxalate crystals

Being overweight increases a dog's risk of suffering from complications associated with urolithiasis. In addition, overweight dogs have double the risk for developing uroliths compared with dogs at ideal weight. Maintaining an ideal weight during and after resolution of lower urinary tract disease could help to prevent recurrence.
