Gastrointestinal Disorders
INTESTINAL is a complete dietetic food for dogs formulated to reduce acute intestinal absorption disorders and promote nutritional recovery and convalescence. This dietcontains an increased level of electrolytes and highly digestible ingredients giving superior digestibility and high concentrations of essential nutrients.
Feeding Duration
In cases of acute disease, regeneration of the intestinal villi requires nutritional management to last for at least three weeks. Lifetime feeding may be necessary/beneficial in case of chronic disease.
In order to optimise digestive function, the recommended daily intake should be divided into several small meals.
Highly digestible ingredients compensate for decreased intestinal enzymatic activity, ensuring an optimal intake of nutrients.
A high energy content food (4 324 kcal/kg) allows a reduction in meal volume and a decreased intestinal charge.
Beet pulp, Mannan-Oligo-Saccharides (MOS) and Fructo-Oligo-Saccharides (FOS) help to restore the colonic ecosystem and increase digestive security.
The exceptional palatability of Intestinal diet and its high energy content promote weight regain during a convalescence period.
Fermentable fibre intake (beet pulp, FOS) is a source of nutrients for intestinal microflora which are essential for colonic health and motility. Mannan-Oligo Saccharides (MOS) stimulate the intestinal local immune system (Ig A) and also have a neutralising effect on pathogenic bacteria.
